Description
This is an empty graded slab that resembles large grading company slabs. Graders are taught to look at the card in a slab to see if damage can be hidden by the slab. For example, let’s say you have some very minor surface scuffing on the card. You can see the damage under direct light and you are worried it may not score a gem mint grade. You can do the same thing a grader would do and put the card in a slab to see if the damage is masked by the slab. Contrary to popular belief, graders typically want to give you good grades but they also have a guarantee to uphold that the grade assigned is true to your cards condition. The one caveat the graders are taught is if a slab can conceal this damage, they can overlook that damage. That could come in the form of surface damage, or very very minor whitening on the left/right of the card. If you have whitening on the top/bottom or corners of your card, graders will not give you the gem mint grade. They are taught if they see any whitening, that will disqualify the gem mint grade. This slab just gives you one more tool in your pre-grading process to see what the card will look like in a slab which gives you a better idea if the card can have damaged concealed.
